Hence, the helicopter could fly only on the fourth day to bring the body on Sunday morning to Srinagar where post-mortem was conducted. On Monday the body was brought by helicopter at Uttarlai Air Force station in Barmer.
Peera Ram will be cremated in Bachdau. His younger brother Hema Ram too is in the Indian Army and has reached the village from Punjab. Peera Ram had joined the Army in 2008 and completed his training with the Jat Regiment training centre in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Four months ago in July 2019, he had come to his village and went back on August 25.
Peera Ram got married in 2012 to Vagtu Devi, who fell unconscious on receiving the news. Peera Ram’s sons, Manoj (4) and Pramod (2) are unaware about the tragedy. On August 25, Peera Ram had left home saying he will come home on Diwali but he did not get leave. Recently he had told the family that he will come to the village in a few days, but this was not to be.
