Pakistan Navy Receives Locally-built Fast Attack Missile Craft - Defenseworld.net -defupdateindia

The Pakistan Navy (PN) received its locally built Fast Attack Missile Craft built by the Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited (KS&EW) on Wednesday.

The fast attack missile craft is a state-of-the-art, multi-mission vessel with steel hull and aluminum super structure. The handover ceremony was held at the KS&EW facility.

It has length of 63 meters with displacement of over 560 tons. The ship is propelled by four diesel and can attain maximum speed of 30 knots. It has 4 propulsion shafts ad fixed pitch propellers.

The missile craft is equipped with indigenously developed Weapons and Sensors that makes it a potent platform of PN, an official release said.

The ship carries surface to surface missiles, 25 mm gun, CIWS, surface search and tracking radars. It has a stealthier design with state of the art combat system. The third vessel is an improved version compared to earlier vessels and will carry indigenous weapon systems.

Though not officially stated, the shipbuilder is said to have received considerable technical help from Chinese shipyards.
